Meet These Special Guests During Your Exceptional Travel Experience
Hugh Ross launched his career at age seven when he went to the library to find out why stars are hot. He holds a BS in physics from the University of British Columbia and a PhD in astronomy from the University of Toronto. He conducted postdoctoral research on quasars at Caltech.
At age 17, he studied the world’s religions and found only one holy book that proved scientifically and historically accurate: the Bible. Hugh became convinced that the Bible is truly the Word of God.
In 1986, he founded Reasons To Believe in order to spread the message that God’s revelations in Scripture and nature cannot contradict. Hugh’s books include More Than a Theory and Why the Universe Is the Way It Is. Between writing books and articles, recording podcasts, and taking television and radio interviews, Hugh travels the world challenging students and faculty, churches and professional groups, to consider what they believe and why.
Hugh lives in Southern California with his wife, Kathy, and two sons.

Jeff Zweerink thought he would follow in his father’s footsteps as a chemistry professor until a teacher piqued his interest in physics. He pursued a BS in physics and PhD in astrophysics at Iowa State University. Postdoctoral research took him to the University of California, Riverside, and eventually to a research faculty position at UCLA.
As a Christian, Jeff desired to understand how the worlds of science and Scripture integrate. He struggled when his scientific studies seemed to collide with his early biblical training until he learned of Reasons To Believe.
Now a research scholar at RTB, Jeff enthusiastically helps others bridge the perceived science-faith gap. He speaks around the country, encouraging people to consider how Scripture connects with scientific evidence.
Jeff is author of Who’s Afraid of the Multiverse? as well as numerous articles, and coauthor of more than 30 journal articles. He serves part-time on UCLA’s physics and astronomy research faculty.
Jeff and his wife, Lisa, live in Southern California with their five children.

Fazale “Fuz” Rana discovered the world of cells while taking chemistry and biology courses at West Virginia State College. He completed a PhD in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry at Ohio University and conducted postdoctoral studies at the Universities of Virginia and Georgia. Fuz worked seven years as a senior scientist in product development for Procter & Gamble.
Biochemistry provided Fuz with the initial evidence that life must have been created. An acquaintance’s challenge to read the Bible led him to believe that YHWH is that Creator.
Today Fuz travels widely, speaking on science-faith issues. He has made guest appearances on many radio and television programs, such as Steve Brown, Etc. and The Harvest Show. He lectures for the Master of Science and Religion program in Christian apologetics at Biola University.
Since joining RTB as vice president for research and apologetics, Fuz has authored/coauthored several books, including Creating Life in the Lab and The Cell’s Design. Additionally, his work has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Fuz lives in Southern California with his wife, Amy, and their three daughters.

EMBARKATION: 11:30 A.M.—2:30 P.M. DEPART: 5:00 P.M.
DAY AT SEA • INSIDE PASSAGE (July 31)
JUNEAU (August 1, 2:30 P.M.–10:30 P.M.)
Located at the foot of grand mountain peaks on the Gastineau Channel, the town of Juneau has the massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Icefields at its back door. Visit rustic shops in town, or get out and kayak, dogsled, raft, bike, hike, heli-hike, flightsee and fish. We’ll be in port long enough to truly take advantage of the long daylight hours, so have an adventure!
SKAGWAY (August 2, 7:00 A.M.–9:00 P.M.)
The sidewalks are all but rolled up in Skagway come winter, so you can only imagine the frightful conditions endured by the gold prospectors who passed through en route to the Yukon, with a mandatory ton of supplies to be hauled with them over the steep and treacherous Trail of ‘98. Today, summertime visits to Skagway require nothing of the sort, but you can still ride the antique White Pass & Yukon narrow-gauge railway up through silvery-purple rock faces, past Dead Horse Gulch, to see what it was like back then.SKAGWAY (August 2, 7:00 A.M.–9:00 P.M.)

GLACIER BAY SCENIC CRUISING (August 3, 10:00 A.M.–7:00 P.M.)
How does it feel when a monumental chunk of ice splits off a glacier and crashes into the sea? The sound is like thunder. The impact shoots water hundreds of feet into the air. You hold your breath as you catch the moment on film. Then you wait for it all to happen again. And it does. Glacier Bay has more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anyplace else in the world.GLACIER BAY SCENIC CRUISING (August 3, 10:00 A.M.–7:00 P.M.)

KETCHIKAN (August 4, 10:00 A.M.–6:00 P.M.)
Built out over the water and climbing weathered stairways, Ketchikan clings to the shores of Tongass Narrows. Visit Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park and the Saxman Village. There are numerous galleries exhibiting Native art and works by talented local artisans.
