Join this Unforgettable Christian Tour to Israel with Pastor Jim & Kim Thomas and The Village Chapel
At The Village Chapel we often talk about how the events of the Bible were set in space-time history. Well, they also had a geographical context and in October of 2010 Kim and I had the privilege of touring the Holy Land with a group of 35 people from The Village Chapel. I cannot tell you what an amazing impact that trip has had on all of us!
Now, I want to invite you to join us on TVC’s second pilgrimage to the land that echoes with the footsteps of the Old Testament patriarchs and prophets, the land that was the geographical setting for the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
The Bible will spring to life for you as we take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee where Jesus calmed the wind and stormy sea, where He walked on water and where Peter, Andrew, James and John used to operate their fishing business. We’ll walk the hillsides where Jesus taught, healed the sick, and fed huge crowds with just a few loaves and fish. We’ll ascend Mount Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal and we’ll sit in the ancient ruins of a synagogue in Capernaum. We’ll stroll through the streets of Jerusalem, stopping at the Western Wall of the Jewish Temple, walk down the Mount of Olives, through the Garden of Gethsemane, and stop at the pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed a man who had been lame for 38 years. Then we’ll walk up the Via Dolorosa, the final path of Christ to the cross. We’ll also visit the ancient sites of Masada and the caves of Qumran, one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world, where thousands of Old Testament scrolls have been found. We’ll take a swim in the Dead Sea and visit the traditional site of the Garden Tomb where Jesus burst forth from the grave.
All along the way, we’ll pause to reflect on related Bible passages, to worship the Lord and pray together. We’re excited about this trip and are praying the Lord will lead and guide all who are to join us for this amazing adventure into the land of the Bible, the land where Jesus walked!
