Join this Unforgettable Cruise of Canada & New England with Michael W. Smith & Friends
When we set out on our first cruise a few years ago, I really didn’t know what to expect. But after a week of the most beautiful scenery and rich interaction with friends like you— cruising became a “Smith-Family Tradition."
Debbie and I could not have anticipated the depth of ministry and refreshment that comes from spending time in a beautiful setting with fellow Believers. To be challenged by great teaching, to be entertained by incredible artists and to be refreshed by each other’s company all make for an amazing week.
From something as silly and fun as Smitty-oke (your chance to sing on stage with me and my band); to something as meaningful as our morning devotions; each cruise has been different, but the laughs and the tears we share together have made for memories we will never forget.
Our biggest challenge for 2012 was to come up with a “new and exciting” destination —and we have found it! We couldn’t be more excited about the itinerary we have set. The beauty and old-world feel of Quebec and Montreal; the breathtaking scenery of the St. Lawrence River and Halifax; and the charm and history of Maine and Boston—will all combine for an amazing week together.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Smitty “and Friends” Cruise without some of my very special “Friends." We'll all enjoy incredible concert performances from Jeremy Camp and Audrey Assad. And what a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be on a beautiful ship at sea hearing from my good friend Sean Hannity. It really is going to be an amazing week!
So – I hope you will join me, Debbie and our family on what, I believe, will be one of the most spectacular weeks you can imagine. It’s going to be a week of nightly concerts, amazing teaching, fun and ultimately great spiritual growth.
We look forward to seeing you on the ship! God Bless....

Michael W. Smith

28-year-old, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Audrey Assad propelled to the forefront of Christian music with her debut album on Sparrow Records titled The House You’re Building. Produced by Marshall Altman (Brooke Fraser, Natasha Bedingfield, William Fitzsimmons, Marc Broussard), the record released in the summer of 2010 to much acclaim. An avid reader, poems from Gerard Manley Hopkins and books were amongst Assad’s inspirations in her songwriting. Her collaborations with everyone from Chris Tomlin to Jars of Clay have marked her songwriting and vocal talent. Assad’s fresh sound was named among the best of 2010 from Relevant Magazine, Rhapsody.com, Gospel Music Channel online and more and was profiled on CNN Online. In addition, The House You’re Building was named Amazon.com’s “Best Christian Music of 2010” and iTunes ® Christian & Gospel “Breakthrough Album of the Year.” Assad released an exclusive iTunes ® Live from SoHo album in August. She will release her sophomore album, Heart, on February 14, 2012, also produced by Altman.

Taking its name from an ancient prayer, L’Angelus performs as a dynamic high energy four piece band, featuring Katie, 27, Paige, 26, Johnny, 24, and Stephen, 22. They describe their sound as Louisiana roots, but still love to play the popular old rock and country and Motown tunes - Americana music. Audiences across North America and Europe are drawn to the “joie de vivre” that radiates from the stage. Music in the Cajun culture has always been a unifying force - it brings families together on the front porch and at the parish dance.
Selected in 2006 by Billboard Magazine from over 1,400 artists as one of 6 finalists in the Independent Music World Series, L’Angelus has been steadily gaining international attention. Two of their original compositions were featured in the nationwide PBS documentary on Louisiana’s Wetlands, Washing Away, narrated by Susan Sarandon. May of 2009 marked their first internationally televised concert, with an hour long interview and performance on EWTN’s “Life on the Rock”, where the group explored the influence that the Catholic culture of community celebrations has had on the development of Cajun and Irish music. Their most recent release, Sacred Hymns Collection, was picked up for international distribution by Ignatius Press, the world’s largest Catholic publishing company, and quickly became one of the most popular items in their music catalogue. On tour in Ireland this past summer, the trio of musicians was literally grabbed off the street to interview and perform live on the country’s two largest radio programs, “RTE with Pat Kenny” and “BBC Radio Live.” For more information, visit www.langelus.com.

In November of 1990, John took the stage at an Indianapolis comedy club with the intention of getting comedy out of his system. "I figured they'd at least boo me off stage. Worst case scenario, they'd throw stuff at me."
As it turned out, there was no booing or throwing.
And since that fateful maiden voyage, John has made lots of people laugh from coast to coast. On stage, he's energetic and contagiously enthusiastic about numerous topics including: Electronic cigarettes, Snuggies, automatic flushing toilets and the proper age to stop chewing your shoe in church. Born and raised in the heart of fly-over country, John is committed to "comedy that won't leave a filthy residue". There's nothing in his act that you wouldn't want to hear your children repeat. (In fact, if your children repeat anything he says, send him a video copy of it...he'd love to see it!) "People didn't invent laughter. It was given to us by someone who knew we'd enjoy it. Every show, my goal is to hurt people. Seriously. I want people's jaws to ache. I want their sides to cramp up. I want them to experience dizziness from oxygen deprivation. When they are in pain, I've done my job."
And hundreds of audiences eagerly respond, "Bring on the pain..."

Quebec City, Quebec, CA (July 8, 7:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.)
A tree-lined “Champs-Elysées,” buttery croissants, the lilt of French, a grand château on the river. Is this Canada, or is it France? It is both a bastion of French culture in North America where impassioned Québécois hold dear their history, language and culture.
Day at Sea (July 9)
Take a breath of clean air and soak in the sights of majestic mountains and vibrant forests as they slide by on our day of cruising at the St. Lawrence River. Scene after scene you’ll see panoramics worthy of capturing and showing to your family and friends after the cruise is over!
Charlottetown, Prince Edward, CA (July 10, 8:00 A.M.– 5:00 P.M.):
Prince Edward Island may be Canada’s smallest province, but it’s big on history and attractions. It is here that the famous Conference of 1864 was held, which resulted in the creation of the Canadian confederacy. Learn all about it on a walking tour of Charlottetown, the provincial capital. Or cast your vote for shopping, a lobster luncheon at Dalvay-by-the-Sea or a tour of the picturesque farm that inspired Anne of Green Gables.Charlottetown, Prince Edward, CA (July 10, 8:00 A.M.– 5:00 P.M.):

Sydney, Nova Scotia, CA (July 11, 8:00 A.M.– 4:00 P.M.):
There are highland villages to visit, the scenic Cabot Trail to explore, golden inland seas to sail and the Fortress of Louisbourg to inspect— where every barn, barracks and pipe and drum corps appears just as it did when King Louis’ troops occupied the site in 1744.
Halifax, Nova Scotia, CA (July 12, 8:00 A.M.–4:00 P.M.)
For ocean scenery at its best, nothing rivals Nova Scotia’s south shore. Here find craggy coastlines, fabled Peggy’s Cove and the striking German village of Lunenburg, so meticulously restored it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Back in Halifax the ramparts of the Citadel and a museum commemorating the Titanic await your inspection.
Bar Harbor, ME, US (July 13, 8:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M.)
Once the exclusive summer resort of America’s fabulously wealthy, today Bar Harbor is an artists enclave and gateway to the rich natural beauty of Acadia National Park, much of which was donated by the Rockefeller family. Watch for white-tail deer and other wildlife and enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the park.Concluding in Boston, MA, US (Saturday, July 14, 2012)
