Praise God! Travel restrictions have been lifted! So after the COVID-induced delay of our Mother’s Day Tour of Israel last year, I am standing on tiptoe in my spirit! I’m so excited to go back and share this blessing with you! The new dates are May 30 through June 9, 2023. While they don’t include Mother’s Day, I have chosen them so that they fall after schools let out for the summer with the hope that more young women can come. (God willing, I will bring both of my daughters and two of my granddaughters with me.) Any and all women are invited. I have planned this tour for the purpose of refreshing your faith as each of us is drawn closer to His heart.
I will never forget the two previous tours of Israel that I have led, one in 2013 and one in 2018. They are among the highlights of my ministry! The memories that were made as we walked in His steps…in His land…and the friendships we formed as we fellowshipped in His Name are a gift from God, for which I will forever praise Him.
As I contemplate leading another tour, the memories keep flooding back: standing on the beach of Galilee reflecting on Peter’s recall to discipleship… walking through the synagogue in Capernaum where Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood, then gathering to pray for our own healing… sitting in the synagogue in Nazareth hearing, as it were, Jesus’ declaration reverberating through the years, “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news” (NIV, Luke 4:18)…worshipping on the Sea of Galilee as we turned off the boat’s motor and listened to the waves lapping on the sides of the boat and felt the sea breeze in our faces, remembering that He watches us in the storms of life…sensing the presence of the Holy Spirit as we sat on the Southern Steps where Pentecost is thought to have taken place, surrendering ourselves anew…standing on Shepherd’s Field at evening, watching the lights come on in Bethlehem, as we sang Christmas carols and worshipped the newborn Baby.
Perhaps the climax of both tours was when we prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane and then ended our time together at the Place of the Skull, bowing to enter the tomb of Jesus, rejoicing that “He is not dead – He is risen indeed”…and then sharing Communion in remembrance of Him.
Many of you have come to know my daughter, Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright, through her weekly, online Bible study. I have invited her to share the teaching responsibilities with me so that at each significant site you will be richly fed.
I promise. This is a blessing you won’t want to miss!
