Helpful Tips for making the most of your time in D.C.

As you look forward to sharing an exceptional travel experience with friends and family, you may be looking for ways to extend your stay or take in more sights not on your main itinerary. Here are a few ways to make the most of your Washington, D.C., tour:

Transfers

With so many different ways of arriving in Washington, D.C.—including 3 airports (DCA, IAD, BWI) and train—arranging a transfer to your hotel is best achieved by taxi or other car services. Some of our tours may include group transfers to and from a certain airport, so please check with your Inspiration Reservation Coordinator before making alternate transfer plans.

Hotel Stays

Remember that you always have the option of arriving earlier or staying later to lengthen your trip. Inspiration can help book your hotel a few days earlier before the tour or extend your stay after the tour if you speak with a Reservation Coordinator in advance of your tour.

Extending Your Stay

Think you’ve seen all D.C. has to offer? ...It would take 258 years to view each Smithsonian exhibit for one minute. There are innumerable things to do in downtown D.C. and in the greater metro area. Why not spend another day at Museum of the Bible? Or visit one of the many celebrated D.C. museums you didn’t get to on your tour? Staying longer will also give you time to explore the capital’s award-winning culinary scene. Check out our recommendations for delicious and phenomenal restaurants.

For more information please call one of our Reservation Coordinators at 800 247 1899, Monday through Friday between 8:30am-5:00pm, Pacific Time.
